This light looks nice and performs its function well when installed, BUT this is a terribly designed product from a physical/installation point of view.
- The mounting plate is flimsy plastic so will distort when attached to anything other than a perfectly flat surface making fitting the main component tricky.
- No mounting screws or anything like that supplied.
- There are only two mounting points – one at the top, one at the bottom, so doesn’t feel as secure as it should be relative to its weight.
- Not a lot of room to manoeuvre stiff incoming cables into the box.
- The TINY little grub screws used to attach the main part to the mounting plate are ridiculous. VERY easy to lose if you are at height and don’t manage to get aligned into the tiny hole. Again, they don’t feel substantial enough.
Installation Tip
Remove the heavy metal and glass part from the main unit during installation – it makes it easier to see/access those TINY LITTLE SCREW HOLES when attaching to the FLIMSY PLASTIC MOUNTING PLATE.
In the manual it tells you about removing the metal/glass part, but only for cleaning purposes:
Beware if you are likely to have children playing ball games near these, one bump with a wayward football will surely separate the main compartment from the flimsy plastic mounting plate that is (have I mentioned this already?) attached by those two TINY LITTLE SCREWS.
Shocking, I’ve bought cheap stuff from AliExpress with better industrial design than this.
